The Spirit of Astana 2018. Under the sky of the Capital city
23.00 The second day of the Festival has come to its end, but The Spirit of Astana is still in full swing. Tomorrow, on this same stage you should expect tremendous performances of artists from Lithuania, Peru, Bashkortostan, the USA and other countries!

22.50 "I am very happy that the Spirit of Astana has been held for the second year in Astana and that this year the Hungarian group is performing here; I notice that the audience is increasing every year." The Kerekes Band has long dreamed of coming to Kazakhstan " the Ambassador of Hungary in Kazakhstan Andrash Barani said.
He said that the Kazakh song surprisingly matches with the Hungarian music culture.
"When I sent them this song, as an example simply, they told me: "It's so similar to our music!" Hungarian songs consist of five basic sounds, and, having listened to Kazakh music, they said that it is also based on those very chords. I think it's an amazing discovery!," Barani added.
22.45 The Hungarian band, with the applause of the audience, performs Kazakh song "Kozimnіn karasy". In their unusual performance the song familiar to all Kazakhstanis has acquired a new sound.
22.40 Artist from Mali Habib Koite said that the lyrics of the song about Astana came to him directly on the stage. "It was pure freestyle, improvisation, I loved the atmosphere so much, the words came up by themselves, I sang about what I feel right now," he confessed.
Habib also noted that the last time he was in Kazakhstan in 1994 at Asia Dauysy Festival.
"Kazakhstan is a great experience for me as well as for my group. I returned to Kazakhstan 24 years later, I am very happy to be here. I have never seen Astana, I see that it is wonderful, there is so much space! People are hospitable, and the audience have turned us on so we want this show to go on," Habib shared his impressions.
22.25 The second day of the festival is closed by the Kerekes Band from Hungary.
22.20 "For us it is an opportunity to express the concept of our country and Astana as the center of the Eurasian continent, because here, on this site, there is a unification of music cultures, music groups and so many bands perform in a mixed line-up representing various continents. 22.00 Performing at the Festival, the Malians dedicated a song to the capital of Kazakhstan - Beautiful Astana. To the sound of guitar and drums, the singer sings about the beauty of the city and the fact that Astana will always remain in his heart.

20.45 The singer from Bashkortostan Katya Yamshchikova joined the audience after her performance at The Spirit of Astana to listen to other artists of the ethno-music Festival.
20.30 "We are in Astana for the third time, and we also performed at EXPO-2017. The audience here is excellent. They have good and kind hearts. It's a very beautiful city, we like to perform here," Natig Shirinov, the head of Natig Rhythm Group, said.
20.20 "I have been coming to this Festival for two years in a row, last year I was in Almaty, and when I found out that Astana is also hosting The Spirit of Astana, I could not help but come. The second day here, I like to experience different emotions. Modern music is now very monophonic, in general, but here this Festival unites so many different styles, instruments and feelings! I think it's very cool," Victoria said.

The team calls their symbol a clay music instrument made in the shape of a nightingale. The wind miniature instrument mimics the singing of birds, that the musicians harmoniously intertwine its sound in their music.
19.50 The grandiose show is continued by guests from Azerbaijan - Natig Rhythm Group.

19.00 The musicians of the Katya Yamschikova Project from Bashkortostan are coming up on the stage.
The band consisting of eight members performing music in folk. In their repertoire there are folk songs in the extraordinary interpretation with elements of fusion rock, as well as original songs.
18.50 "We really like this place in the center of the city, where the energy of the city is vibrant; people come here and watch the show with great interest, and for us it is always very exciting feelings, we are very nervous and trying very hard to please the public," Aldaspan founder Nurzhan Toishy said.
He noted the excellent quality of sound transmission is an important condition for electro-dombra players.
"There must be more projects like this one. We should hope that soon the people of Kazakhstan get used to the fact that concerts with live and pure music take place in the cities, I think we will have our own culture that will attract the world," he confessed.

This year the group brought to Astana amazing combinations of Russian songs and African drums. The next year the artists promise to combine traditional Kazakh songs with instruments of African peoples.
18.15 The regular participants of The Spirit of Astana and The Spirit of Tengri, the band from Kazakhstan Aldaspan, are the next to come up on the stage.
And by tradition, they literally the first chords have fascinated the audience.

Today, the residents and visitors of the Capital are going to enjoy the shows from Katya Yamschikova Projects (Bashkortostan), Natig Rhythm Group (Azerbaijan), Aldaspan (Kazakhstan), Kerekes Band (Hungary), Jiggy (Ireland) and Habib Koité & Bamada (Mali).
Totally there are going to be shows from 19 great bands from more than 20 countries. The musicians represent such far-abroad countries as Ireland, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Turkey, Japan, Mali, Hungary, Peru, the USA and India. The participants of the grandiose show include: Marga Muzika (Lithuania), GeoTRAIN (Georgia), Kerekes Band (Hungary), Indiogenes (Peru), musician Robert Yuldashev with the band "Quraisy" (Bashkortostan), The Doox (Ukraine) and Katya Yamschikova ( Bashkortostan), as well as collectives BaBa ZuLa (Turkey), Khoomei Beat (Tuva), Natig Rhythm Group (Azerbaijan), Jiggy (Ireland), Dirtwire (USA) and Red Baraat (USA / India), as well as Abbos (Uzbekistan), Aldaspan together with Baraban.KZ and Yedil & Satzhan Project (Kazakhstan).
Contemporary Ethnic Music The Spirit of Astana 2018 is held with the support of the Astana Akimat as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The official water of the festival is ARZU. Recall that last year, the Project's partner was the supermarket chain Magnum Cash&Carry.

The Spirit of Tengri is a multicultural and one of the world's largest projects in the genre of contemporary ethnic music, with a status of a national cultural brand. To date, musicians from 70 countries and regions of the world have been on its stage. Over these years, more than 100 thousand Kazakhstanis and guests of the country have been its visitors. The Spirit of Tengri festivals are bright colorful music shows accompanied by informational art materials and video content. Thus, they are not only entertaining but also educational.
